Refuge Student Ministry desires to EXPOSE students to the reality of Jesus Christ in ways that are (1) biblical, (2) relevant, and (3) relational.  There are so many things in our present culture that are vying for the attention and souls of students today.  We realize that we do not have a great deal of time throughout the week with students, so we value the time we have with them and want them to leave our time together understanding more about Jesus than before, and in an environment that fosters relationships with other students and adults who care about them.

Our worship experience involves music led by our student-led worship team as well as engaging videos that cause our students to ask questions or think deeply about the topic about to be covered.  Our teaching time is led by Pastor Miles that covers a variety of topics that students either can relate to or need to understand.  This year (2009-2010) our ministry has included 6th graders into the mix and this will call for a change in programming for a normal Wednesday night youth group.  Students will gather together (6th – 12th) for worship and then break up–one group (ie. Jr. High) going to small groups and the other group (ie. Sr. High) staying for large group teaching with Pastor Miles.  This flow will rotate each week to provide students with a combined worship experience and multiple opportunities to experience both large and small group instruction.
